Privacy policy

1. What this site is for

Guests look at today’s offers and this week’s offers, take one, and show a code at the venue. Venues post offers and scan that code. You can follow a place and get a note when something new is on. We collect only what we need to run that.

2. Personal data we collect

• Account data. Email address, name, and sign-in identifiers when you register with email, Google, or X. Venue accounts may also include a venue name and phone number.
• Account type. Whether you are a guest, a venue, or the administrator, and whether a venue account is waiting, approved, or declined.
• Offers you take. The offer, the venue, how many people, the code, and whether it was scanned.
• Follows and notes. Places you follow, and the messages we show you when they post something, including a browser notification if you allow it.
• Technical data. A session cookie so you stay signed in.

We do not take payment on this site. We do not collect card details.

3. How we use it

• to create and run your account;
• to approve or decline a venue account;
• to show offers, issue a code, and let the venue scan it;
• to tell you when a place you follow posts something new, if you asked for that;
• to keep the site secure;
• to meet a legal obligation if one arises.

Lawful bases: contract (running the account and the offer you took), legitimate interests (security, and running the site), and consent where you turn on browser notifications or follow a place. You can unfollow, and you can turn notifications off in your browser.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We do not share it for advertising. A venue sees the name and party size on a code they scan, because that is how they know you came for their offer. We use processors only to run the site: the platform that hosts the application and database, and Google or X if you choose those sign-in methods.

We may disclose data if the law requires it. Hosting may sit outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers use.

5. Cookies

We use an essential cookie (and equivalent storage) so a signed-in session can persist. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not use analytics products that follow you across other sites. If you block essential cookies, sign-in will not work.

6. How long we keep it

Account data and the offers you took are kept while your account is in use, and for a reasonable period afterwards if we must resolve a dispute or keep a security record. You may ask us to delete your account. We will do so unless we must retain a limited record for legal or security reasons.

7. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you may have the right to access a copy of your data, have inaccurate data corrected, ask for erasure, restriction, or portability, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). 8. Children

The site is for adults. Offers can include alcohol. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

9. Security

Transmission over the internet is never perfectly secure. You are responsible for your password and for any device you leave signed in.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top will change. Continued use of the site after an update means you have read the new version.
