Terms of use

1. What Faffin’ About is — and is not

Faffin’ About lists time-boxed offers on drinks and food from pubs, bars, and restaurants in Belfast, Bangor, and Newtownards. You take an offer and show a code at the venue. The venue decides the offer, the time, and how many spots there are.

We are not the venue. We do not take payment on this site. We do not guarantee a table beyond the offer as posted.

2. Accounts

Guests can register and use the site straight away. A venue account cannot post or scan until it is approved. We may refuse or remove an account if these terms are broken, or if the details are not real.

You must be 18 or over. Offers can include alcohol. You must give accurate details and keep your password to yourself. Do not share a login.

3. Offers and codes

An offer is for the time and the number of spots the venue set. When the spots are gone, or the time has passed, it is over. The code is for you. The venue scans it once. Do not copy a code, sell it, or use it for more people than you said.

What is included — drinks, food, dessert, or a mix — is whatever the venue wrote on the offer. If that is wrong when you arrive, speak to the venue. We will correct a listing that is clearly a mistake, but the venue is responsible for what they serve.

After you are in, the venue may send another offer to your table. You do not have to take it.

4. Venues

If you post an offer, it must be real, for your venue, and honoured for anyone who arrives with a valid code inside the time, while spots remain. Do not post an offer you will not keep. Do not scan a code for someone who did not come.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

• break into the site, probe it, or overload it;
• scrape offers or accounts;
• pretend to be a venue, or pretend to be us;
• post unlawful content, or use the site to harass anyone.

6. Availability

We aim to keep the site up. We do not promise it will never fail, or that a code cannot be lost if something breaks. Keep your own note of a booking if you cannot afford to lose it. We may change or remove a feature.

7. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, we are not liable for a venue failing to honour an offer, for a full room, for food or drink you did not like, or for any indirect loss from using the site. The site is provided “as is”.

8. Intellectual property

The Faffin’ About name, the layout, and the original copy on the site belong to us. You may not copy the site or present it as your product. Venue names, photographs, and menu details stay with the venues that supplied them.

9. Changes

We may amend these terms. The date at the top will change. If you keep using the site, you accept the new terms. If you cannot accept them, stop using the site and ask us to close your account.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland. The courts of Northern Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction. Questions: will@hawkesmail.com.
